01

Introduction

Welcome to Qodex, a QR Code and Barcode scanning, decoding, and generation application developed and provided by Lumix Tech.

At Qodex, we respect your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal information. This Privacy Policy explains what information Qodex accesses, how information is handled, where information is processed, how information may be shared, and what choices are available to you.

Qodex is designed with a local-first privacy approach. Information and content processed by the app are intended to remain on the user's device unless a particular feature, third-party service, operating-system service, or user action requires information to leave the device.

By using Qodex, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this Privacy Policy.

02

Information We Do Not Require

Qodex does not require users to create an online account or provide a password in order to use the core functionality of the application.

Qodex does not require Google Sign-In or another social-login account for its normal scanning and generation functionality.

We do not intentionally collect the following information merely for providing the core QR/barcode functionality:

  • Passwords
  • Government identification numbers
  • Banking passwords or PINs
  • Contacts
  • SMS messages
  • Call history
  • Phonebook information
  • Personal messages
  • Biometric information
  • Precise location information

Qodex does not intentionally sell personal information to advertisers or other third parties.

03

Camera Access

Qodex may request access to your device camera because camera access is necessary for scanning QR codes and barcodes.

The camera is used to:

  • Scan QR codes
  • Scan barcodes
  • Detect encoded information
  • Process the scanned code and display the resulting information

Camera data is processed for the scanning function and is not intentionally uploaded to Lumix Tech servers merely because you use the scanner.

Qodex does not intentionally record or store continuous camera footage.

Camera access can be controlled through Android's permission settings. You may revoke the permission at any time, although doing so may prevent the scanning functionality from working.

04

Images and Files

Qodex may allow you to select an image from your device for QR-code or barcode recognition.

When you voluntarily select an image:

  • The selected image is used only to perform the requested operation.
  • Qodex does not intentionally upload the selected image to Lumix Tech servers for the normal scanning operation.
  • The app may temporarily process the image in memory or in application storage while performing the requested operation.
  • Temporary processing data may be removed when it is no longer required.

If you choose to save, export, share, or otherwise store an image or generated code, the resulting file may remain on your device according to your device and Android storage behavior.

05

QR Code and Barcode Data

Qodex may process information contained within QR codes and barcodes.

Examples include:

  • URLs
  • Plain text
  • Contact information
  • Wi-Fi configuration information
  • Email addresses
  • Telephone numbers
  • Product information
  • Calendar information
  • Encoded or decoded text
  • Other information voluntarily provided through a QR code or barcode

Qodex does not claim ownership of the content contained in codes that you scan.

The information encoded in a QR code or barcode may itself contain personal, financial, confidential, or sensitive information. Users should exercise appropriate caution before scanning unknown or untrusted codes.

06

Local Data Storage

Qodex may store certain application data locally on your device to provide features such as:

  • Scan history
  • Generated QR/barcode history
  • Application preferences
  • User-selected settings
  • Locally saved content
  • Other information necessary for application functionality

Where such information is stored locally, it is stored within the application's local/device storage and is not intentionally transmitted to Lumix Tech merely for local functionality.

Deleting the application may remove locally stored application data depending on Android/device behavior. Users should separately delete exported or manually saved files if they no longer want them.

07

Email Address

If Qodex provides a feature allowing you to enter an email address, the email address may be stored locally on your device as part of your profile or application settings, where applicable.

The email address is not intended to be used by Lumix Tech for creating an online account unless the app explicitly introduces such functionality in the future.

If you use an external sharing or email feature provided by your operating system or another application, the information may be transferred to that service according to that service's own privacy policy.

08

Decoding and Encoding Features

Qodex may provide functionality for decoding or interpreting supported encoded formats, including formats such as:

  • Base64
  • Base64URL
  • URL encoding
  • Hexadecimal encoding
  • JWT/JWS payloads
  • JSON
  • Other supported encoded formats

Where decoding is performed locally, the supplied content is processed on your device.

Qodex does not intentionally transmit locally processed decoding content to Lumix Tech servers.

Users should understand that decoding data does not necessarily make that data safe. Decoded content may contain malicious URLs, scripts, scams, phishing information, or other harmful content. Users are responsible for deciding whether to open, execute, share, or otherwise use decoded information.

09

Advertising

Qodex may display advertisements through third-party advertising services.

If advertising functionality is included in the version of Qodex you are using, advertising providers may process certain device or advertising-related information in accordance with their own policies and applicable platform requirements.

Such information may include, depending on the advertising SDK and configuration:

  • Advertising identifiers
  • IP address
  • Approximate device/network information
  • App and device information
  • Ad interaction information
  • Diagnostic information
  • Information required to deliver, measure, or prevent fraud involving advertisements

Qodex does not control all information independently collected by third-party advertising providers.

The applicable third-party provider's privacy practices should therefore also be reviewed.

Lumix Tech does not sell users' personal information directly to advertisers.

10

Google Play Billing and Purchases

Qodex may offer optional paid features, memberships, subscriptions, or other in-app purchases through Google Play Billing.

Payments are processed through Google Play and its payment infrastructure.

Qodex does not receive or store your complete payment-card number, CVV, banking password, UPI PIN, or similar payment credentials as part of normal Google Play Billing processing.

Google may provide the application with transaction-related information necessary to determine whether a purchase or entitlement is valid.

Purchases are subject to Google's applicable terms, policies, and refund procedures.

11

Third-Party Services and SDKs

Qodex may use third-party services or software development kits (SDKs) necessary to provide specific functionality.

These may include services such as:

  • Google Play services
  • Google Play Billing
  • Advertising services
  • Android platform services
  • Crash reporting or diagnostic services, if enabled in a future version

Third-party services may independently collect or process information according to their own privacy policies.

Lumix Tech is responsible for the application-level handling of information but cannot control the independent practices of third-party providers.

Google Play requires developers to account for data handling performed by third-party SDKs when completing the Play Console Data Safety section.

12

Internet Access

Qodex may require Internet access for certain functions such as:

  • Delivering advertisements
  • Processing purchases through Google Play
  • Checking application/service availability
  • Accessing functionality that explicitly requires an online service

The core scanning and local QR/barcode processing functionality may operate without an Internet connection where technically supported.

Qodex does not intentionally require an Internet connection merely to scan a QR code or barcode when the relevant feature is available offline.

13

Information Security

Lumix Tech takes reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information handled by Qodex.

Because locally stored data is maintained on the user's device, users should also protect their device using appropriate security measures such as:

  • Screen lock
  • Device encryption
  • Operating-system security updates
  • Application updates
  • Secure device access

No method of electronic storage or transmission can be guaranteed to be completely secure. Therefore, while reasonable safeguards are used, Lumix Tech cannot guarantee absolute security against every possible security threat.

14

Data Retention

Qodex follows a data-minimization approach.

Information that is processed locally is generally retained only as long as necessary to provide the relevant application functionality or until the user removes it.

For example, locally stored scan history or generated content may remain on the device until:

  • The user deletes it through Qodex;
  • The user clears the relevant application data;
  • The application is uninstalled; or
  • The operating system removes the relevant application data.

Third-party services may retain information according to their own retention policies.

15

Data Deletion

Because Qodex is designed without requiring an online user account for its normal operation, there may be no central Lumix Tech account containing your personal information to delete.

Users can delete locally stored Qodex data through the application's available delete/clear functions or through Android's application settings, where applicable.

If you believe Lumix Tech has received personal information directly from you and you would like to request its deletion, you may contact us using the contact information provided below.

We will review legitimate requests and take appropriate action subject to applicable legal, security, fraud-prevention, and record-keeping requirements.

16

Children's Privacy

Qodex is not specifically directed toward children under the age applicable under the laws of their jurisdiction.

We do not knowingly collect personal information from children for purposes unrelated to providing the application.

If a parent or legal guardian believes that a child has provided personal information to Lumix Tech without appropriate authorization, they may contact us and request that the information be reviewed and, where appropriate, deleted.

17

User Responsibility

Qodex is a tool for scanning, decoding, generating, and processing QR codes and barcodes.

Users are responsible for the information they scan, enter, generate, save, or share.

Do not scan or process confidential or sensitive information unless you understand the risks associated with doing so.

Qodex may display information contained in a QR code or barcode, but this does not mean that Lumix Tech verifies, endorses, or guarantees the safety, authenticity, legality, accuracy, or reliability of that information.

Users should independently verify suspicious URLs, payment requests, login pages, contact information, or other potentially sensitive content before taking action.

18

Links to Third-Party Websites

Qodex may display URLs or other links contained in QR codes, barcodes, generated content, advertisements, or other user-provided information.

When you open a third-party website or service, you are leaving Qodex and becoming subject to that third party's privacy policy and terms.

Lumix Tech does not control third-party websites or guarantee their privacy, security, availability, or content.

19

Changes to This Privacy Policy

Lumix Tech may update this Privacy Policy when Qodex's functionality, data practices, third-party services, legal requirements, or platform requirements change.

When changes are made, the updated version will be published with a revised "Last Updated" date.

Users are encouraged to review this Privacy Policy periodically.

If a material change significantly affects how user information is handled, we will take reasonable steps to provide appropriate notice where required.

Google Play also expects privacy disclosures and Data Safety information to remain accurate when an app's data practices change.

20

Your Privacy Rights

Depending on your country or region, you may have certain rights regarding personal information, including rights relating to:

  • Access
  • Correction
  • Deletion
  • Restriction of processing
  • Objection to certain processing
  • Withdrawal of consent where applicable
  • Information about how personal information is processed

Because privacy rights vary by jurisdiction and because Qodex is primarily designed for local/device-based processing, the availability and scope of these rights may vary depending on the circumstances.

To make a privacy-related request, contact Lumix Tech using the contact information below.

Where applicable law requires consent for a particular type of data processing, Qodex will seek that consent through the appropriate mechanism.

23

Governing Principles

Lumix Tech intends to operate Qodex according to the principles of:

  • Data minimization
  • Purpose limitation
